ES1-S2 Farm, Food & Fibre
Living World/Material World
Students learn about the important role that farms play in the provision of quality food and fibre products and raw materials, and how these raw materials can be processed and turned into products for our own consumption. Some activities may vary in accordance with Stage of students and seasonal farming operations.
Learning experiences
- Chook pen visit and collection of any fresh eggs.
- Sheep mustering, health assessment and wool inspection.
- Cooking scrambled eggs.
- Making fresh lemondade/combination of different products.
- Wagon ride. Observation of different cattle and comparison of pastures and crops.
- Making Milkshakes.

- ST1-5LW-T – A student identifies how plants and animals are used for food and fibre products.
- ST1-6MW-S - A student identifies that materials can be changed or combined.
- ST2-5LW-T - A student describes how agricultural processes are used to grow plants and raise animals for food, clothing and shelter.
- ST2-6MW-S - A student describes how adding or removing heat causes a change of state.

Department of Education Schools $15 per student - GST free
Non-gov Schools - $30 per student - GST free, minimum charge $650
Extreme or wet weather
Program may be modified, postponed or cancelled due to predicted extreme temperatures, bush fire danger, heavy rainfall, high winds or dust storms.
